Helen Mary Fite

Helen Mary Fite, our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother went to be with the Lord on July 20, 2011, at the age of 93 years. Helen was born to Reinhold and Mary (Moritz) Schmidtzensky on March 30, 1918, in Fredericksburg, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 61 years, Eugene Howard Fite, Sr.; a daughter, Barbara Lynn Fite; one grandson, Daniel Wesley Ward; one great-grandson, Russell Aarron Hoffmann; three brothers, Francis Schmidtzensky, Leo Schmidtzensky, and Reinhold Schmidtzensky Jr.; and three sisters, Rita Jordan, Norma Schmidtzensky and Mary Ann Schmidtzensky. She is survived by one son, Eugene (Gene) Howard Fite Jr. and wife, Sylvia; five daughters, Rose Marie Perkins and husband, Herbert, Judy Ann Curtis and husband, John, Mary Jane Brewster and husband, T. Wayne, Theresa Elaine Jeffers and Brenda Susan Fite. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one brother, Marcus Schmidtzensky; and three sisters, Agatha Aycock, Elenora Moehle and Irene Loughlin. Besides dedicating herself to raising her children and helping her extended family, Helen served as the secretary and bookkeeper of the family business, Howard Fite Plumbing and Heating Co. To all who knew her, Helen was a loving and caring lady who demonstrated compassion for and kindness toward everyone she met. A Visitation and Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 26, 2011 from 6 to 9 pm, with a Rosary being recited at 7 pm, at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers.
