Johnny went to be with our Lord on April 4, 2019, at the age of 97. He served in the U.S. Army and served as a Rifleman and Assistant Squad Leader in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. He loved our country and proudly displayed his military medals with honor. The American flag was always flying high on their front lawn. He was a man of strict discipline and order, and always made certain that the flag flew according to military protocol.
Johnny worked at Kelly Air Force Base for 33 years. While there, he was frequently recognized for his outstanding achievements, including, several Gold Awards for his vast knowledge of electronics, leadership, and excellent job performance.
He was a man of strong faith, and he was a longtime member of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church. There, he enjoyed fellowship with the congregation and joyfully served as a greeter until the age of 90.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Lorenzo and Gregoria A. Moralez and eleven siblings. He is survived by his wife Rosa E. Moralez; his four step-children, Richard Miles (Juanita), Lorraine Miles Diaz (Tom), Cheryl Miles Galindo (Henry), and Lupita Miles Arteritano (Joseph). He was deeply loved and always admired by his grandchildren, Tommy Diaz, Matthew Diaz, Kimberly Morales, Bryan Narvaez, Michelle Alvarez, William Miles, Alejandra Miles, Richard Miles, Sarah Strey, and Juanito Hernandez, as well as his seventeen great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Johnny will be remembered as a kind, dignified, soft-spoken man, husband, father, grandfather, and above all else a faithful servant to God.
