Martha C. Gutierrez, born on November 6, 1927 in San Antonio, Texas went to be with the Lord on January 24, 2016 at the age of 88. She is preceded in death by her husband, Valentine Gutierrez; her parents, Eligio and Elidia Calderon; brothers, Henry Sorola, Sylvestre Sorola, Ventura Calderon, and Eligio Calderon. She is survived by her sister, Bertha Hernandez; brothers, Sam, Felix and Hilario Calderon. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends. The family would like to extend a heartful thanks to the caring staff at Mesa Vista Inn Health Care. A visitation will be held on Monday, February 1, 2016 at Roy Akers Funeral Home, 515 N. Main Ave., from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A procession will depart the funeral home on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. Mass at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. Interment will follow in San Fernando Cemetery No. 2.
