Mary Diaz Gonzales

Mary Diaz Gonzales, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 06, 2025, at the age of 87. She was born on June 11, 1938, and throughout her life brought joy, creativity, and warmth to all who knew her.

Mary was a woman of many passions. She loved painting, drawing, dancing, and listening to music. Her vibrant, outgoing personality lit up every room she entered. She enjoyed shopping, laughter, and—above all—spending time with her family, who were the center of her world.

She is survived by her son, John Albert Gonzales (Irma Gonzales), and their children John Albert Gonzales Jr., Angel Christopher Gonzales, Paris Ian Gonzales, Violet Rain Gonzales, and Ezekiel Giovanni Gonzales; her daughter, Virginia A. Gonzales (David G. Gonzales), and their children Vanessa Elaine Gonzales, David Seth Gonzales, and John Ethan Gonzales; as well as the family of her late son Alfred D. Gonzales—his wife Patricia Gonzales and their sons Abraham Rudyard Gonzales and Aram Sebastian Gonzales—and the family of her late son David Joe Gonzales—his wife Velia Gonzales and their sons David Joe Gonzales Jr., Alex Rene Gonzales, and Eric Jacob Gonzales; she is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gabriel S. Gonzales Jr., and her sons Alfred D. Gonzales and David J. Gonzales.

Her love, kindness, and joyful spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Mary will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the light and laughter she shared so freely.

A visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, located at 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, TX, 78205, on November 20, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A rosary will also take place at the same venue on November 20, 2025, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
