Porfirio "Leo" Garcia

Porfirio served in the Navy from 1943-1946 during WWII and was honorably discharged, then served in the Army from 1948-1954 during the Korean War. He loved to farm, fish and hunt. He is preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Rosa Garcia, and his loving wife of 57 years, Rachel.

He is survived by his children Dianna and Felix Garza, Leo and Becky Garcia, Peggy and Andy Garcia, Cindi and Richard Hernandez and David and Tabby Garcia; grandchildren: Tanya and John Ansualda, Rita and Johnny Olivares, Mike and Wendy Garcia, Gregory Garcia and Tasha Espinoza, Stephanie Garcia, Lisa Michelle Torres, Ruben Torres, Julie and Jose Fernandez, Ashley and Christopher Zapata, and Zachary Hernandez; 19 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brother: Rudy and Lola Garcia.

Visitation will be held at Funeraria del Angel Roy Akers, 515 N. Main Ave., on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with the Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. On Wednesday, March 13, 2019, the family will welcome attendees at Cornerstone Church, 18755 Stone Oak Pkwy, at 10:30 a.m., with the Funeral Service to begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
