

In loving memory, Rodolfo G. De Leόn, Sr. was called home on July 20, 2014 at the age of 83, to forever be with the Lord and Savior. Born July 11, 1931 in Higueras, Nuevo Leόn, Mexico to loving parents Agapito and Andrea De Leόn Gonzalez, who preceded him in joining their heavenly father along with his brother Benito Gonzalez and sister, Aurora Chavez. Rodolfo immigrated to the United States from Mexico in the early 1950s. He was first employed with U.S. Steel Corporation in Gary, IN in 1953. He returned to Mexico to married Luz Alba in 1955 before making San Antonio, TX their permanent home where they raised their family. Rodolfo spent nearly 30 years at Handy Andy Supermarkets and rose to management. He later joined Consolidated Produce Company working with the Karam and Mery families. Through this friendship, he became a member of the St. George Maronite Catholic Church community. After retirement he started a business with his wife selling antiques and plants. Rodolfo had a love for music and dancing, and passed that along to his children. Rodolfo loved his grandchildren and was very proud of them. He loved advising and sharing his lifetime experiences with others. He had a great sense of humor and loved to entertain through story telling. Rodolfo was known to all as a hardworking provider for his family, for his gentle nature, and unwavering faith. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Luz Alba De Leόn Gonzalez, sons and daughters: Irasema De Leόn and husband Luis R. Carrillo, Araceli De Leόn and lifetime partner Guadalupe Gomez, Alba De Leόn, Rodolfo G. De Leόn, Jr. and late wife Barbara De Leόn, grandchildren: Anthony De Leόn, Daniel De Leόn, and Shelby Carrillo, and sister, Guadalupe Gonzalez, and relatives and friends. Visitation will be from 5pm-9pm Thursday, July 24, 2014 with a Rosary at 7pm at Roy Akers Chapel, 515 N. Main Ave. Mass will be Friday, July 25, 2014, 10am at St. George Maronite Catholic Church, 6070 Babcock Rd, and Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an organization of your choice.
