Ruth Donovan Salinas passed away on June 19, 2022 after a fierce struggle with cancer. She was both loved and loving and will be missed by all who knew her. Born in San Antonio into a large family, she graduated from Providence High School and later from Dickensen College. She had a career in the Armed Forces Civil Service, retiring early from Kelly AFB. She was married for over twenty years during which time she had the experience of living in the Holy Land. Ruth was a lifelong churchgoer, a known giver in her neighborhood, and also donated to numerous charities that helped children, animals and veterans. She was also a prolific letter writer to the local newspaper where she expressed anti-war and anti-corruption positions. She enjoyed photography, rose gardens, and dancing. She is survived by a son, Jason, a daughter, Jasmine, and a number of brothers, cousins, nephews, nieces, and one sister. Ruth was a presence and will be a welcome arrival at God’s side.
A reception for Ruth will be held Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, Texas with a chapel service at 12:45 PM. A graveside service will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, Texas.
