

Sylvia Pompa – age 72, of San Antonio, passed away August 16, 2016 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend always putting others before herself. She was a lively person, full of personality who loved to laugh and tell jokes. She worked at Jose Cardenas I Head start for many years where she was loved by all the children and was always very attentive to their needs. Her peers enjoyed working with her because of her teamwork, ethics and professionalism. Her smile and spirit are a true example of the wonderful person she was. She was preceded in death by her parents: Leopoldo Losoya, Virgina Lopez Cruz, Jose Cruz and her brother Leandro L. Losoya. Left behind to eternally treasure her memory are her loving husband of 52 years, Victor M. Pompa; children: Victor M. Pompa, Jr (MaryAlice), Diana Puente (Julio), Robert Pompa, Sylvia Hernandez (Jerry), her brother Leopoldo Losoya, her sister Alice Villarreal, her grandchildren: Richard, Anthony, Robert, Vanessa, Aracelli, Analicia, Julie and Natalie; great-grandchildren: Xavier, Zayvion and Olivia and extended family members. Visitation will begin Monday, August 22, 2016 at 5:00 PM with a Rosary recited at 7:00 PM at Roy Akers Funeral Home. The Funeral procession will depart Tuesday at 8:30 AM for a 9AM service at Christ The King Catholic Church at 2623 Perez Street. Burial to follow at Sunset Memorial.
