Sylvia M. Rocha

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sylvia M. Rocha, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. Sylvia passed away on November 6, 2024, at the age of 65, in San Antonio, Texas.

Sylvia was born on February 4, 1959, in San Antonio, Texas, to the late Jose S. Miranda and Pola H. Miranda. She was preceded in death by her brothers Joe and Frank Miranda, and sisters Lucy Santos and Inez Zamora.

She is survived by her husband Esteban Tobias; her children Daniel Rocha (Jessica Mungia), Ruben Alvarez (Destiny Llamas), and Stephanie Tobias; her cherished grandchildren Brianna Tobias, Estevan Tobias, Daniel Rocha Jr., Krysta Rocha, and Emiliah Alvarez; as well as her great-grandchildren Leonardo Tobias, Levi Tobias, and Leanna Tobias. Sylvia is also survived by her loving siblings Gloria Vidaurri, Frances Garcia, Nick Miranda, Alice Acevedo, and Paula Ann Parvin.

Sylvia had a deep love for life and a passion for the simple joys that made her happiest. She was an avid dancer, enjoying the rhythm of Tejano music, and she found great satisfaction in thrifting and cooking. She was known for her vibrant spirit and her ability to bring people together through the warmth of her home and heart. Sylvia was a woman of great faith and love, whose laughter and kindness will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A visitation for Sylvia will be held Friday, December 13, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78205, followed by a memorial service from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
