John Medeiros was a devoted husband, father and, more recently, a grandfather. Although he never had the chance to meet his beautiful Granddaughter, Anika Olivia Medeiros, he eagerly anticipated the joy of being called "Grandpa". After a lengthy illness, Jhon was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at the age of 58.
John was born October 1, 1966, to his mother, Hortencia Castillo Medeiros and his father, Morris R. Medeiros. He was one of the middle children in a family of nine siblings. Jhon gave his life to the Lord at the tender age of eleven. By the time he was sixteen, he began his ministry with the youth, recognizing it as God's calling. Without hesitation, he fully embraced this path and devoted himself to it.
John graduated McAllen High School in 1984. He later graduated from Southwest Assemblies of God University in 1993, where he studied Pastoral & Christian Education and became an Ordained Minister. In 2018, he received his Master of Divinity from Southwest Assemblies of God University. John was in the process of studying for his PhD through Dallas Theological Seminary; however, due to his illness he had to take a pause.
In the summer of 1985, he met the love of his life. After a two-year courtship, John married Cleotilde "Cleo" Ibarra of Rio Hondo, on June 6, 1987. Together, they had three children.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Cleo, sons Jeremiah, and Jacob (Anai), daughter Rebekah and his beloved granddaughter, Anika Oliva. Also left to cherish his memory are his siblings; Judy Martinez, Lita Harris, Tony Medeiros, Rosie Torrech Prieto, Marylee Tumlinson (Todd), Alex Zapata (Robert), Peter Medeiros, Gary Medeiros (Carmen); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as Pallbearers are, Jeremiah and Jacob Medeiros, Gary Medeiros, Peter Medeiros, Anthony Medeiros, and Landen Ponce.
Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are, Andy Medeiros, Robert Zapata, Kevin Reyes, Kenneth Medeiros, Rolando De la Rosa, Todd Tumlinson, and Tony Alcantar.
