

Juanita Villegas Luna, 94, of Lyford, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025.
With only a third-grade education, her life was a testament to the truth that success is not measured by schooling alone, but by determination, wisdom, and heart. With grit and an unwavering spirit, she poured her energy into creating and nurturing
JJ’s Dance Land, a local, family-oriented establishment she opened in 1969. For more than a decade, JJ’s Dance Land became a cherished gathering place for families, friends, and community members. Her business was not just a livelihood, but an extension of her love for people and her commitment to bringing joy to others.
In the mid-1980s, she chose to retire from the business she so lovingly built, embracing the opportunity to spend the rest of her years alongside her devoted husband, Jesus Villegas Luna. Together, they shared a lifetime filled with love, family, and countless memories.
She is survived by Rene Luna Sr.(Mandy), Leticia Chenkus (Mike), Alma Linda Chavez (Clyde), Jesus Luna Jr (Michele), Lynda Sanchez (Michael), and Hemmanuel Luna (Ruby). 22 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren. One brother Ismael Hinojosa (Rachel). She was preceded in death by Jesus Villegas-Luna (husband), Rolando Luna (son) and Ruben Luna Sr (son). Parents - Manuel Hinojosa and Margarita Hinojosa.
Her family and friends will remember her for her strength, laughter, faith and her unwavering belief in the power of family.
Viewing will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a service at 7:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Mont Meta & Memorial Park 26170 State Highway 345 in San Benito, Texas 78586-7351.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, August 26th at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home Chapel of Funeraria Del Angel. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
Services are under the guidance of Funeraria Del Angel Mont Meta & Mont Meta Memorial Park. A Dignity Memorial provider.
