Lucinda, commonly known as “Lucy,” had the most enormous heart. She was a spiritual, and devoted wife, sister, aunt, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother who always exhibited an abundance of love and compassion. Her love and incredible compassion were not only noticed by her loved ones and friends but also trickled over to the many patients she cared for during her thirty-five plus year career as a nurse for the state of Texas where she successfully retired from. Prior to the onset of her illnesses that eventually caused her to become home bound, Lucy enjoyed weekly water aerobics outings with her friends known as the Water Lilys. Those who knew Lucinda knew she loved the beach, vacationing, late night crabbing, fishing, camping, shopping, watching her favorite NFL football team…the Kansas City Chiefs, playing loteria, coloring, word search, crossword puzzles, dancing, but most importantly being active and present in attending her grandchildren’s sports activities.
Lucy will be fondly remembered by her strong-will, independence, stubbornness, compassion, and enormous heart but those traits defined her! Always generous, loyal, brave, and full of knowledge gained through all of her life experiences. Those experiences were part of who she was, and her strength undoubtedly helped her deal with life’s challenges. Our mother will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Antonio Campos; children: her son Ralph Campos, her daughter Cynthia Marquez (Albert), her daughter Myra Garcia (Oscar), and her daughter Vanessa Cruz (Enrique); grandchildren: her granddaughter Heather M. Campos, her granddaughter Miranda Ralston (Jason), her grandson Oscar Garcia Jr., her grandson Joshua Marquez, her grandson Kristopher Cruz, and her grandson Enrique Cruz Jr. (Candice); her great-granddaughter Lindsay-Rae Cruz, her great-grandson Dreden Ramon Cruz and her great-grandson to be Judson Ralston; siblings: her sisters Diana Gutierrez, Martha Flores, and Gloria Sanchez, her brothers Roland Gonzalez, Armando Gonzalez, and Chris Gonzalez; as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Lucinda was preceded in death by her mother Olivia Gonzalez and her fathers Juan G. Gonzalez and Refugio Flores; her grandparents Federico Cantu and Rosa Cantu; her brother John Gonzalez; her brother Manuel Gonzalez; her sister Viola Guevara, Rosalinda Robles; and her grandson Ramon L. Cruz.
