Marylis Leon Holmes Ayres

Mrs. Marylis Ayres, age 86, of Cumming. GA formerly of Sandy Springs died September 4, 2016. She was born October 25, 1929 in Canton, Georgia to Leon and Myrtle Holloway Holmes. Marylis was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John Omer (Jack) Ayres; her daughter Pam Ayres and infant daughter Janet Ayres and a step-son, Ray Ayers Surviving are her daughters Phyllis Sutton and her husband Lester Sutton of Sandy Springs; Margaret Eudailey and her husband Tom Eudailey of Durham, NC and Mary and her husband Tom McBee of Atlanta; her step-son Jack Ayres, Jr and his wife Barbara Ayres of Cumming; one sister, Nell Hood of Jasper and two brothers, Cecil Holmes of Cumming and Tommy Holmes of St. Simmons Island and 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Marylis was a loving Mother and Grandmother and sister and was a faithful member of the Baptist faith. Graveside Services will be held Thursday, September 8, 2016 at 3 p.m. in Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Sandy Springs Chapel, 136 Mt. Vernon Hwy NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328, prior to the service.
