Milton Andrew Lucas beloved brother father uncle and friend departed this life on Sunday, January 15th, 2023, at 8:47 PM from complications due to his short battle with cancer. Milton was the 11th and youngest child to the late William and Minnie Lucas. Milton was born in Brooklyn NY on Valentine's Day, February 14th, 1950. He grew up on Varick St. with his siblings Magdalene (late), Eva, William, Johnny (late), Shirley (late), Clydie, Gloria (late), Earl, Dolores, and Elaine (late). Milton was formerly educated by the New York City Department of Education where he earned his High School Diploma. He would later join the US Air Force in 1968 during the Vietnam War era. He later married Lillian Allen in 1976 and ultimately had a total of four children, his only son Andre Lucas and twin daughters Tina & Trina Lucas and Satima Lucas. Milton was employed at various government agencies to which he would retire from the maintenance department at the Veterans Administration.
Milton had a love and passion for soul music to which he would always be found singing at every occasion. If there was a microphone, just know that he was singing in it. He also had a passion for fishing and taking cruises. He took pride in being a retired veteran and while fishing out on his boat would often sing oldies by Otis Redding, Al Green, Heatwave and Smokey Robinson. He was a great cook and “smothered” everything. He made dishes like fried fish, slow cooked rice and beans, oxtails, spaghetti and the list goes on. Milton was the life of the party. Just leave him in a room and in 5 minutes he would know everyone, and everyone would love him. He would burst into a song, tell you a hilarious joke and have the room in stitches or pull off a funny prank. There was no sadness when he was around. If you ask any of his close relatives or friends, they would tell you that Milton Lucas truly enjoyed life and always enjoyed dressing “so fresh so clean”. To know Milton was to love him because he had so much love in his heart.
Milton leaves to honor and cherish his memory, four children Andre Lucas of Connecticut and his wife Rayshell Lucas and their four children (Riana, Laila, Briana, and Nevaeh), Tina Lucas (Garcia) of Rochester NY and her husband Jose’ Garcia and their two children (Isaiah and Myiah), Trina Lucas of Long Island New York and her daughter (Samarra) & Satima Lucas of New Jersey and her son (Ny’eem). Also to cherish his memory, are five siblings (Eva, William, Clydie, Earl and Dolores); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Milton also re-dedicated his life to Christ just weeks before he passed.
