I coached Nick in swimming at Martin's landing river club. We also went fishing together with my sister. Nick was a very fine person. I wish I stayed in touch as we got older. I'm 62 now and have ALS. RIP old friend.


This is far too long in coming...I had no idea that Nick had left.  I apologize and extend My most sincere Best Wishes to Those Who Nick Loved and also to Those who Loved Nick.  He was\is a Bright Star in the Universe,  My name is Bruce William Reaves, born in Atlanta around the same time, although my journey did not intersect until I met him for the 1st time in 10th grade @ Crestwood High School.  We both took the bus.  Nick was the 1st person I meet @ the bus-stop in Martin's Landing on my 1st day to my new High School
so as an awkward teenager i was terrified. And to meet a person like Nick on a day like that:  Well that is good Fortune








I haven't forgotten Nicholas.  My sympathies are with you.   At 84 I'm experiencing loss after loss after loss, of loved ones and of much much more.  I know from first hand experience how profoundly painful it is to lose one of the most important people in your lives.  Hopefully my research and documentary episodes will carry on the passion Nick had for exploring and honoring the lives of our ancestors.  Theirs is such an extraordinary story to tell.                                                                                  May God bless and comfort you during these difficult days.  
 

Just wanted to say that i knew Nick and his brother brett, we all went to crestwood together. They live 4 houses down from my parents house in south shore (martins landing) He will be missed!!!!
RIP NICK MANTIA

I was totally shocked to learn about Nick's passing. He was such an energetic and warm person. He always has a special way to connect with people. I still remember how enthusiastic he was when he spoke about his passion for ancestry tracking, woodwork and arts.  Rest in peace...

He was my kinsman and my friend for much too short a time.  We met, we laughed, we shared, we dreamed about the coming fruits of our collaborative relationship.  And then he was gone and we are left reeling from the shock of it.  Nick's memory will always be treasured by those who loved him and by those who benefitted from his life's work.    

Nick made me smile and brought joy to my life whenever we spent time together.  I thank him and his family for that and the many memories he helped to create.  Very sad to say farewell.  I am thinking of you Scott and of
Nick’s family.

Nick, you were my first and very best friend.  I still look at the clock at 9:18 and think of you, and I always will.  Our paths separated, but I am so happy to know you found your love in Scott.  I know he is an incredible man.  You are and always will be loved by so many Nick, and I am one.  I pray that you are smiling over all of us right now, especially your Mom and Scott as I know they need all the love you and all of us can surround them with right now.  I know you will rest in peace Nick because you held closely to the love you had and gave.  I love you Nicholas Anthony Mantia and I always will.

I worked with Nick at HomeBanc mortgage.  Nick was always great with people.  He was a great trainer with a servant's heart.  Nick, I know you are in the arms of Jesus and I will always miss you.

Ah, Nick. I am so sorry for us to have lost a person like you. I hope you are resting peacefully. You made all the people who knew you happier.

I'm so sorry about your loss. Nick was a wonderful human being, full of life, and always brought fun and laughter whenever I was lucky to be in his company. He will be missed by so many people. I am in shock and profound sorrow to hear of the passing of Nick.  He was a sensitive, smart man.  He will be missed by many.  God bless you Nick.  Scotty so sorry to hear of your loss.

    Our memories of our children playing and growing up in Martins Landing do not seem so very long ago.  Our hearts are broken for you and your family.   There are no words that we can say to help the healing.  Memories are everything and the only thing that help you get through this time.

I first met Nick while we were in high school at Crestwood. I have many happy memories of times together in high school, college and beyond. Nick was beloved by everyone and I am blessed and privileged to have known him. He touched so many lives and will be in our hearts always. My love and prayers go out to all Nick's friends and family.

I attended Crestwood High School with Nick. I am lucky and grateful to have known him. There are people and then there are good people and he was that.  Such an intelligent and giving person, always a great listener and a positive presence in life. He will be missed by so many but not forgotten.  My thoughts and prayers are with everyone that was close with Nick.  

I met Nick about 20 years ago through Leadership Buckhead and am so grateful to have called him a dear friend ever since.  No one could read a person better and we went on to develop a DISC oriented sales class together and teach nonprofit leaders new skills.  One person said the class literally changed her life.  And that was after only 1 day with Nick.  I’m lucky to have benefitted from 20 years worth!  Scottie, he loved you so much.  I know you know, but I want you to know EVERYONE knew  because of how Nick spoke of you.  May your happy memories serve as some comfort. 

Nick seemed to be somewhat of a fixture at our house as a friend to my sister, Amy Putz, first, then me. Such a warm smile and eyes he had.... always a sweetheart to be around. My thoughts and prayers are with y’all during this time. ❤️

Nick and I were in the same Leadership Buckhead class, and we volunteered together for a couple of years afterward. He made everyone feel at ease. He motivated people to be their best just by being himself. His smile and wit could diffuse any tension. His energy was infectious. I am lucky to have known him. To his mom, I know you have lost so much, and you are in my every prayer. To Scott, we only met a few times, but the love and respect you two shared was inspiring. I  pray that you find comfort in each other and that your memories with Nick give you strength in the midst of the grief.
