Alta B. "Booby" McDonald, 82, a resident of Saraland, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2019 in Mobile, Alabama. She was born in Waynesboro, Mississippi on September 29, 1936 to Albert U. and Leddie May. Booby was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Saraland. She was also a member of the Saraland Senior Center. Booby was an avid domino player. Her family is going to miss some of her most famous southern dishes including chicken and dumplings, homemade turkey dressing, and of course, her wonderful biscuits. Booby was her kids', grandkids', and in-law's biggest fan and supported and loved them immensely.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James "J.W" McDonald, six brothers, and a sister. Booby is survived by her children: Katherine McDonald, Jim (Tracie) McDonald, and Joe (Susie) McDonald; grandchildren: Jimmy McDonald, Ross McDonald, Joe Joe McDonald, Josie McDonald, Susie "LuLu" McDonald; J.P. McDonald and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Radney Funeral Home, 1200 Industrial Pkwy. Saraland, Alabama. Funeral services will follow Wednesday morning at 10:00 A.M. from the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home-Saraland. Interment will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Saraland, Alabama. Bro. Wayne McMillian will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Joe Joe McDonald, Ross McDonald, Jimmy McDonald, Cliff Dearmon, J.P. McDonald, Jeff Mauldin, and Bobby Miller.
