Bert Wilton Pearce – a 93 year-old native of Mount Vernon, Alabama, resident of Mobile County for the majority of his life, and a resident of Montevallo, Alabama since September 2023, passed away in Alabaster, Alabama on March 3, 2025. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served at Ellington Air Force Base in Houston, Texas. Mr. Pearce was a 1951 graduate of the University of Alabama and was an avid Crimson Tide fan.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Shirley Murphree Pearce; two sons, Alfred “Fred” Malcolm Pearce and Daniel Levi Pearce; and granddaughter, Lindsey Marie Pearce. Mr. Pearce is survived by his children, Amy Everette (A.P. “Dinky”- deceased) of Semmes, Alabama, Jody Gothard (David) of Montevallo, Alabama, Stephen Pearce (Carol) of Mobile, and David Pearce (Paola) of Pensacola, Florida; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 2 great-granddaughters; other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held in Mount Vernon Methodist Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Alabama on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 10 a.m. Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Friday, March 7 from 5-8 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons, Toby Pearce, Corey Pearce, Justin Everette, Travis Everette, Cody Everette, Josh Browne, Jackson Pearce, and Jack Pearce. Honorary pallbearers will be his great-grandsons, Cooper Pearce, Camden Pearce, Grady Pearce, Paxton Comalander, Keller Comalander, Bridger Everette, Taplin Everette, Asher Everette, Wyatt Everette, Braden Bakane, Tanner Bakane, Levi Bakane, Edilson Andoe, Lincoln Robinson, Maxton Browne, and Theodore Browne.
