

Billy Ott – A native of Clarke County, AL and lifelong resident of Chickasaw, AL died Monday, November 12, 2012 at home. Mr. Ott joined the U.S. Navy at age 17 and served his country during WWII. He worked for Nabisco for 20 years. For the next 25-30 years, he worked as a Supervisor in the construction industry in many states. His last job before retirement was Supervisor of Labor on the Cochran Bridge. He was very involved with the Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Ott was an avid gardener and loved his pets. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Hazel Ott; his mother, Annie Ott; and his mother-in-law, Florence Pugh. He is survived by his son, Dale (Teresa) Ott; grandson, David (Kerry) Ott; great-granddaughter, Piper Noelle Ott; many longtime friends and neighbors. The family will receive friends at Radney Funeral Home Thursday, November 15, 2012, from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. from the funeral home chapel, followed by a 1:30 p.m. graveside service in River Hill Cemetery, Salitpa, AL. Active pallbearers will be Jerry Stuckey, Joe Stuckey, Harlan (Bo) Hammac, Doug Owens, Tom Lambert and Terry Brooks. Honorary pallbearer will be Len Loewen. The family is accepting flowers and donations to the Aseracare Hospice, 1201 Montlimar Dr., Ste. 100, Mobile, AL 36609.
