Charles Clifford Gillespie, 85, passed away on February 2 2022 at his home. Mr. Gillespie

served in the U.S.Army Reserves and was a retired civil engineer. He enjoyed fishing, tinkering

in his garage and spending time with family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John William Gillespie and Maude Peoples Gillespie,

of Rockford, Alabama and a brother, Byron E. Gillespie, Sr. of Midlothian, Illinois.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Cora Sue Gillespie, a devoted son, Charles Mark

(Sheryl) Gillespie, 2 grandchildren, Katherine (Bret) Davis, Corey (Becky) Gillespie, and 4 great

grandchildren, Emma Rehwinkel, Chazaiah Gillespie, Oliver Davis and Violet Davis ; numerous

nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Graveside services will be held at Sears Chapel, Rockford Alabama on Tuesday February 8 at

1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a local church or favorite charity.
