

Charles Larrimore grew up in Chance, Alabama, approximately 20 miles west of Grove Hill. After graduating high school, he moved to Chattanooga TN and then to Kansas to help his brother run a gas station. From there, he was drafted in the Army where he served 2 years in the US Army’s 34th Signal Battalion in Germany where he received medals for good conduct and sharpshooter. After returning home from service, he moved to Mobile to pursue a career that lasted 40 years at International Paper Company and where he met his wife, Dorothy, of 63 years and had 3 children, 2 daughters and 1 son.
During those years, he sold insurance, became a real estate agent and began flipping houses and buying homes as rentals. After retiring, he dedicated his time to Dorothy’s Applelicious Gourmet Apples homegrown business.
He lived in Chickasaw from 1963 to 2006 when they moved to Orange Beach, AL. He is a former member of the First Baptist Church of Chickasaw where he served as a Deacon and current member of First Baptist Church of Gulf Shores.
He was always civic-minded, social, generous and passionate about our country where he overcame poverty and lived the American dream. He was a true Patriot.
Charles enjoyed morning coffee at the Waffle House, Mexican Train at the Senior Center, working in his yard, taking up the Sunday School donation offering and opening doors for others.
He was proud of his accomplishments, associations, memberships and volunteer activities:
Member of the Mobile County Republican Party for more than 20 years and served eight years on the Alabama GOP Executive Committee, 2015 recipient of the Military Quilt of Valor Award and current member of the Baldwin County Republican Party. 1981 Chickasaw Citizen of the Year, served eight years as a Chickasaw City Councilman, Former Vice President of the Mobile Municipality Association, Former member of the Mobile County Economic Development Council and Alabama Development Association, Appointed to the Selective Service Board for Mobile County by President Ronald Regan, 10- year member of Mobile Community Action, and Food Pantry volunteer at the Christian Service Center in Gulf Shores.
Chickasaw Civitan President, Lieutenant Governor and Governor of the Civitan Alabama West Florida District, 2010 Orange Beach Citizens Advisory Committee on Administration, Policy and Ordinance, 2014 Orange Beach Lion’s Club Lion of the Year.
International Paper Company’s Quarter-Century Society and member of South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce.
Charles is preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Larrimore. Sisters and Brothers: Barbara Larrimore Williams Vick, Rev. Leroy Shelton Larrimore, Christine Larrimore Cherry, Bobby Earl Larrimore, Ann Larrimore Dixon, Carolyn Williams and Johnny Williams.
He is survived by two daughters, Vickie (George) Mitchell (Daphne, AL) and Angela (Ryan) Chandler (North Richland Hills, TX); seven grandchildren Chase (Samantha) Langham (Daphne, AL), Jacob (Rebecca) Chandler (Keller, TX), Nick Chandler (Barrington, RI), Logan (Linley) Larrimore (Hattiesburg, MS), Ashleigh (Chase) Cormier (Spanish Fort, AL), Adam Chandler (Ft. Worth, TX), Cayden Larrimore (Hattiesburg, MS); two great grandchildren Levi Chandler and Lennox Langham; one sister Sarah Williams Glass and many nieces and nephews.
On Tuesday, November 18, 2025, relatives and friends are invited to the 10 AM Visitation and 11 AM Memorial Service at First Baptist Gulf Shores, 2200 1st Street, Gulf Shores, AL 36542.
Interment will be later at Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spanish Fort, Alabama.
