While growing up Dan fished and the rivers around
Mobile, AL never stopped calling him. This watery pull, and a pending draft, led him to choose to enlist in the Navy. As a proud Petty Officer First Class, his travel and experiences on the USS Independence molded him (that and every Western ever made or written). After his naval tours in the US and overseas, he enjoyed engaging in good chats, imparting wisdom, learning, hearing good music, reading tons of books, and cheering 'Roll Tide'.
Each spring he was impatient to hear baby martins cheeping in the birdhouses he'd hung and grew gardens of wildflowers. It was here he'd visit, write poems, stories, songs, and jokes. His 'real' mission was to always share a laugh. It didn't matter whether a good joke, a corny groanworthy one, or how receptive we were. Dan's list of jokes goes on, but here are just a few...snake, Big Mac, Mother
Teressa, pirate, bad dog and trophy wife.
