

He was born on October 13, 1948 to William and Ilene Robertson. He graduated from Jamestown High School in 1966. He played clarinet in high school and loved doing it. After high school, He served his country as a demolition specialist in Vietnam in the Army for four years (1968-1972). After Vietnam, he traveled frequently, finally settling down and calling Mobile, Alabama home. He attended the University of South Alabama where he studied to be an archeologist. He loved fishing and playing the guitar and the harmonica. He met the love of his life, Regina, in 1994, and married each other in 2011.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Ilene Robertson, and his brother, John Robertson
He leaves to cherish his wife; Regina Carpenter, son; Ryan Robertson (Tracy), daughter LaCrissa Thompson, stepdaughter; Sarah Rusich, grandchildren; Jaliyah Thompson, Cassius Thompson, Kaitlyn Goodwill-Piccirillo (Stephen), Megan Goodwill, and Matthew Robertson, great grandchildren; Vance, Liam and Holden, Landan, Emma, Jace, and Julian. One brother, James Robertson and sister, Nancy Amoroso (Aldo); one sister-in-law; Cheryl Robertson, 8 nieces and nephews; Jami Robertson (Scott), Mark Robertson, Scott Robertson, Andrew Robertson, Michael Robertson (Taryn), Kathleen Green, William Robertson, Rachel Baker (Jon), and Anthony Amoroso. 11 great nieces and nephews, and other family, friends, and relatives that will miss him dearly. Our family would like to give a special thank you to Alabama Hospice, the VA Promise, and all of his caregivers and staff for their wonderful care.
David was a rock to so many and will be missed.
