Jerry, the son of Harry Merle Saranthus and Lula Mae Saranthus, was born in Mobile, AL. He attended Satsuma High School and studied business at South Alabama in preparation for his career with The Saranthus Investment Inc., a rental company founded by his parents, brother, and himself. He was a beloved, dedicated husband to Diane Pope Saranthus for 42 years. He was a loving father to Lori Saranthus Patterson and Ashley Inez Taylor, and cherished grandfather to 5 beautiful grandchildren.
Jerry was a generous, entertaining and lively soul, who loved nothing more than to joke with others. It was one of his greatest pleasures to cook and host gatherings for his growing family.
Jerry is predeceased by his parents Harry (1914-1976) and Lula Mae (1920-1993), his sibling Harry Jr. (1944-1999), and his grandchild Ethan Patterson (2002-2007).
He is survived by his wife Diane; daughters Lori Patterson and Ashley Taylor; son-in-laws Kenny Patterson and Chase Taylor; and grandchildren Jacob, Emma, Gabriel, Matthew, and Elijah.
He will be missed by many friends and family members.
A wake is schedule for Tuesday, October 29th, 2019 at Radney Funeral Home, 1200 Industrial Pkwy, Saraland AL. Family will be in attendance from 5:00 pm-6:00 pm, friends to follow 6:00 pm-8:00 pm.
Funeral will take place Wednesday, October 30th, 2019. Viewing starting at 10am, Funeral Service to be held in the chapel at 11:00 am, followed by procession to Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 10000 Celeste Rd., Saraland, AL.
