Larry Jones, 66, of Saraland, Alabama, passed away on May 22, 2025. Born on December 20, 1958, Larry was a lifelong resident of Saraland and a devoted family man, friend, and hard worker. He spent over 25 years employed with Courtaulds Fibers and later became the proud owner of Larry Jones Painting, which he operated for another 25 years. His work was more than a career, it was a calling. Larry loved meeting new people, never passed up a good conversation, and built countless friendships through his business.
He is survived by his daughter, Erin Jernigan (Chad), and his son, Brent Jones (Autumn); his beloved mother, Ella Mae Jones; his brother, Mike Jones; and his cherished granddaughters, Madison Jernigan, Macy Jernigan, and Maddox Jernigan. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Arnold R. Jones; his brother, Kenneth A. Jones; and his sister, Charlene Jones.
Larry found great joy in spending time at his place in the country and especially loved hunting with his son. He was deeply devoted to his mother and gave his time freely to care for her. His heart was big and tender if he saw a need, he met it, often without hesitation. He talked about his children and granddaughters with pride to anyone who would listen, especially his customers, who quickly became friends through his warmth and openness. His laugh was contagious and will be remembered for years to come. Larry's kindness, generosity, and genuine love for people left a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. He will be remembered not only for the quality of his work, but for the quality of his character.
Funeral service will be held from Destination Church in Saraland on Wednesday, May28, 2025 at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends at the church from 9 a.m. until the service hour.
