Marylou was very special to me, she took me in as almost a complete stranger. We were family by blood, but other than that and her love for my older brothers David and Robert were all we had in common. Frank and Marylou took me in as one of her own. She feed me and yell at me as if I was her son. For that I am truly thankful. I miss and think of her everyday she will always be in my thoughts.

I always enjoyed our conversations over these many years. Mary was a huge asset to me as Grand Knight for the St. Thomas Knights of Columbus.  She was a great friend and will be missed. Prayers for Frank and the family at this time of huge loss. She was a true treasure to know. Rest in peace my friend.


I loved how my Aunt Mary had such a dry sense of humor, even more dry than , my dad (Charles Mcquaid. (Her brother)  love  depending how she felt she would call him Charlie Brown or Skipper. For many reasons we grew up very poor. She and the girls would still come and visit. I think they were surprised we only had one washcloth and we washed dishes with it. Those trips meant everything. 
Aunt Mary worked what I considered a fancy department store. Once, she bought me and my sister lamps for our bedroom. We didn’t own a lamp in our whole house. But, my sister and I had one and we felt so special.
I spent a lot of time with them in Mobile when I was younger and I know I was a handful.
The first time I ever had hot  tea with those little sugar cubes was with her. I felt so grown up and fancy.  In the summer she would take my sister and I to their “summer house” and I learned how to waterski by Uncle Leslie.
I was a very awkward kid. I was bullied at school and I always wished I had her courage to just tell it like it was. Instead, I hid in books. She would tell me to “stop reading and just enjoy the company or the setting outside” which was great advice.
I was thinking of her this week being the anniversary of Pearl Harbour. . She was a Pearl Harbour baby and was born in Hawaii. (I mean we may need to find and double check her birth certificate  😆❤️ Just kidding
Her and my dad were  raised in Hawaii. From what my dad said they were not treated kindly. Hawaii did not want America there.  The kids bullied and called my dad and Aunt a unique slur you only hear  in that area.
She has so many stories but more than anything  Aunt Mary loved her Catholic faith, her beautiful daughters Leeanne and Mary and her son Micheal with my cousins and my uncle  Leslie who left before us. But, loved and adored Uncle Frank and their huge family. ♥️♥️♥️
