Mary Sue Flemister Pruitt

Mary Sue Flemister Pruitt, age 86, passed away at dawn on March 10, 2013 in Mobile, Alabama. She was born September 4, 1926 in Cherokee County, Alabama and was a long time resident of Chickasaw/Saraland, Alabama area. She was a member of Chickasaw First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Ethel Flemister, of Round Mountain, Alabama, her husband Hubert Pruitt, of Chickasaw, her daughter Connie P. Smith, of Fairhope, her son Dennis W. Pruitt, of Creola and her granddaughter Michelle Jones, of Fairhope.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Ellen (Jimmy) Little, of Saraland, Rhonda (Liston) Jones, of Fairhope, daughter-in-law Debora Pruitt, of Creola, son-in-law David Smith, of Fairhope and her honorary daughter Bonnie Williams, of Mobile. Mam Maw is survived by her 12 grandchildren, Karen Little (Breck) Messer, Jeffery Little, Laura Little, Leah Jones (Tim) McTaggart, Jason Pruitt, Sarah Pruitt, Allie Pruitt, Brandon Smith, Rachel Smith, Caleb Smith, Lauren Messer (Jason) Walley and Teresa Jones (Walter) Ernest. She was also Mam Maw to 6 great-grandchildren, Ryan Messer, Mary Emily Messer, Mary Claire McTaggart, Bryson Walley, Elizabeth Ernest and Caroline Ernest. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

The family extends special thanks for the loving care provided to mom by Springhill Senior Residence staff, most especially Sheila, Frances, Barbara and Ginny.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 12, 2013, from 5 until 8 p.m., at Radney’s Funeral Home in Saraland, Alabama. Funeral services will be held at Radney’s Funeral Home in Saraland on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 11 a.m.
