Mildred Henderson Risor

Mildred Henderson Risor - A native of Butler Co., AL and a longtime resident of Chickasaw, AL died Tuesday, March 5, 2013 in a local health care facility. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and she will be greatly missed. Mrs. Risor was a founding member of the Full Gospel Assembly of God Church in Prichard and a member of Fountain of Life Church. She worked at International Paper for eighteen years and was co-owner of the Dizzy Dip Drive Inn. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dove and Mittie Henderson; her husband of 61 years, Howard B. Risor, Sr.; two children, Timothy and Barbara Risor; and four sisters, Hazel Martin, Blanche Nell, Lois Peek and Hazel Lewis. Survivors include four children, Diane (Lawrence) Haney, Beverly Summersgill, Brenda Stewart and Howard B. Risor, Jr.; four grandchildren, Timothy (Kim) Haney, Tammy (Greg) Watson, Joseph "Jed" and Joshua Stewart; six great-grandchildren, Jessica, Jeremy and Jordan Haney, Hayden, Blake and Brady Watson; numerous beloved nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be Friday, March 8, 2013, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Valhalla Memorial Gardens.
