Peggy Jean Ferguson Slay, 80, was born January 30, 1941 in Gorgas, Alabama to the late Jadie Emmail and Lelia Earlene Middlebrooks Ferguson and was called to her Heavenly home on August 26, 2021 in Mobile, Alabama. Peggy was a member of Trinity Faith Bible Church. Peggy devoted her life to God and her family. She was a homemaker and volunteered at local schools. She was a Girls Scout Troop Leader.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; James F. Slay, two daughters: Ouida Stringer, Linda Slay, and one sister; Ann Rivers.
Left to cherish Peggy’s memories will be her daughter; Yvonne Kelly and husband Patrick, one sister; Sue Caton, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, along with many extended family members and a number of wonderful friends.
Honoring Peggy as pallbearers will be Shavella Schreiner, Brandon Slay, Anthony Burgum, Tito Dixon, Richter Higdon and Patrick Kelly, Jr.

Celebration of Life services for Peggy will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Radney Funeral Home, 1200 Industrial Parkway, Saraland, Alabama 36571 with Pastor Rodney Forister officiating. Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Forest Lawn Memorial Garden Cemetery, Saraland, Alabama.
The family will be receiving guests for visitation on Saturday, September 4, 2021 from 2:00 PM until time of service at 3:00 PM at Radney’s.
