“Rebecca Diane Williams (née Rushing), 40, passed away at 9:12 am on Thursday, March 5th, 2026. After a tragic battle with illness, Rebecca spent her final weeks at her sister’s home in Semmes, AL and departed this earth peacefully surrounded by close family.
She is survived by her mother, father, four sisters (Tracey, Tara, Mandie & Ramsey), two brothers (Brian & Joey), her beautiful children, Pearl, Jake, Gabriel & Bethany Claire, and a large extended family—some by blood, others by choice.
Born on November 25th, 1985 in Lucedale, MS to Gerald Wayne Rushing and Patricia Diane Perry, Rebecca grew up in Wilmer, AL and Lucedale, MS before moving to Pooler, GA. After the birth of her first child, Autumn Pearl, Rebecca decided to further her education. She became a certified surgical technician and a sought-after asset in the Operating Rooms of many of Mobile’s hospitals. “Holding a heart in her hands” meant something entirely different when Rebecca said it. Cardiology was her passion and brought her immense satisfaction and pride.
After several years in the OR, she discovered another passion—raising a large family—and decided to become a stay-at-home mom. She settled in Fruitdale, Alabama, brought Jake, Gabriel and Bethany Claire into the world, and home-schooled all 4 of her children through several years of their education. Her first love never wavered though, and once the children were prepared for the social world of mainstream school, Rebecca again raced back to the Operating Room.
Rebecca’s hobbies included listening to music (she’s logged 600 Spotify hours in a month!), make-up and beauty tips, cooking and TikTok. She always had an unquenchable curiosity and enjoyed learning about topics from history to zoology to nutrition. She was bright, bold and stubborn. She overcame immense obstacles to build her own life her own way, and she helped so many friends and strangers along the way.
Her family would like to invite all those who knew Rebecca to a celebration of her life at 6:00 PM Tuesday, March 10th at the Promised Land Assembly of God Church, 13157 Hwy 98 E. Lucedale, MS 39452.
Flowers are a lovely gesture, but given the nature of her illness, the family believes donations made in her name to the American Cancer Society, American Pancreatic Association or the USA Mitchell Cancer Center would have a bigger impact on our community and country.”
