Veree Jennings Thomas

Veree Thomas, of Saraland, entered into rest Saturday, January 23, 2016 at her home. She was 79. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Saraland United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Dr. Mike Hoppe and Dr. Dan Couch will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the church.

Mrs. Thomas was a member of Saraland United Methodist Church and a former member of the Women’s International Bowling Congress, as she was an avid bowler. She was preceded in death by her grandchild, Rachel Daugherty, and her parents, Preston Lee Jennings, Sr. and Ruby Mae Shirey Jennings.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Horace “Punk” Thomas, four children, Donna (Randy) Daugherty, Sherry (Mitch) Caylor, Pebo (Christie) Thomas, and Traci (Steve) Smith all of Saraland, three sisters, Mary Harbor, Judy Gardner, and Linda Jo Brown, two brothers, Preston Lee Jennings, Jr. and Thomas Glenn Jennings, six grandchildren, Chris Daugherty, Kelli Salter, Blake Thomas, Spencer Shaw, Zach Thomas, and Dakota Smith, four great-grandchildren, Mason, Tytus, Gavin Daugherty, and Andrew Salter, and numerous nieces and nephews.
