Virginia Ann Handley Baldo, age 72, of Semmes, Alabama passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2018. Virginia was born March 8, 1946 in Phenix City, Alabama to Irene Brown Handley and Mitchell William Handley, Sr.
Virginia is survived by her children, Paul Sims, Debra Freeman, Kathy Silvers, and Kimberly Dunaway; brothers, Johnny Handley and Mitchell (Patricia) Handley, Jr.; sister, Cora Martin; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a lifelong friend, William Kinard; and nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Virginia was survived by her husband of 42 years, Claude Milton Baldo, Jr. who passed away a few days after her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mitchell William Handley, Sr. and Irene Brown Handley; sister, Para Lee Handley; and brothers, Louis Handley, John William Handley, Charlie Handley, and Robert Handley.
Virginia loved fishing and camping, staying in the mountains, country music, and of course, Alabama Football. She loved her family, teaching them to be ever grateful in all situations and respectful to all people. Virginia and Claude were private, hardworking people that loved their family and neighbor.
A visitation for Virginia will be held Friday, July 20, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home, 1200 Industrial Pkwy, Saraland, Alabama 36571. A funeral service will occur Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Valhalla Memorial Gardens, 8730 Sims Rd, Eight Mile, Alabama 36613.
Serving as pallbearers are Kevin Welborn, Sean O’Hara, Mike O’Hara, Mike Catrett, William Kinard, Tommy Silvers, Donald Payne, and Chase Farley.
