Believing in civic duty, Alvan was a Naval Officer, an active volunteer in his local community, and was a representative in local government.
Following the Korean War, Alvan practiced pediatric dentistry for 43 years with multiple locations in Northern Virginia, specializing in special needs children. Ever trying to make this world a better place, Alvan was awarded multiple patents. In addition to his lifelong love of music, he also had a passion for travel, photography, landscape design, cooking, sports and history.
He is survived by his loving wife Suzanne Morris, children Susan (Mark) and Fredric (Mary), grandchildren Stephanie, Joelle, Madeleine, and William.
He is preceded in death by his parents Sidney and Jean Morris, siblings Beverly Ainspan, David Morris, Ruth Force, and his beloved daughter Stephanie Lynn Morris.
A funeral service for Alvan will be held Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Temple Emanu-El, 151 McIntosh Road, Sarasota, FL 34232. Following the funeral service will be a graveside service at 11:00 AM at Palms Memorial Park, 170 Honore Ave, Sarasota, FL 34232.
