Ana Maria Agudelo Barreda passed away peacefully on March 12, 2022 at the age of 87. She was known to many as Anita, Ana, Ita, Mama, and Ama but no matter what you called her she left a lasting impression on you.
She was born in Tulua, Colombia South America. Ana was born to Maria Rita Garcia and Jesus Enrique Agudelo on October 15, 1934. She is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years Jose Barreda. They fell in love and married in Columbia.
She joined the entertainment industry and became an aerial artist on the high wire while Jose was a lion tamer. Through their work performing, it brought them to the United States where they became citizens and settled in Edmond, Oklahoma. She was happiest surrounded by her family and friends, hosting get-togethers, dancing with Jose, and making people happy with her delicious cooking. While retired in Florida, she spent her days loving on her grandkids and passing along her wisdom and compassion. She made a lifelong impression on her husband, sons, grandkids, daughter in laws, great granddaughters, friends, and anyone she came in contact with.
They had three sons Jorge (Lou Ann), Jimmy (Kendra) and her beloved Joselito, who preceded her in death. Four grandchildren Julia (Kellen), Lou (Alexis), Cadence and Karys. Two great grandchildren Kellena and Juliette. Five brothers Apolonias (Maria), Heraclio (Lila), Gonzalo (Maria), Fredy, and Pedro Agudelo Garcia. Three sisters Bernarda, Alba Lucia Augudelo Garcia and Isabel Montano (Hernan). She was preceded in death by her parents Maria and Jesus.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; He rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” Psalm 34:18 NLT
Even though we will miss her deeply, we are comforted in knowing she has been reunited with her son, Chino, in Heaven.
She always looked to the heavens and now has gained her wings to take to the air again. She will forever be the guardian angel to those she cherished most.
