

Angela A. Karcz of Foley, Alabama passed away in her home surrounded by family on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at the age of 91. Born on March 6, 1933 in New York City, she lived in New York and New Jersey for many years before moving to Sarasota, Florida and eventually Foley, Alabama.
Angela graduated from Central Commercial High School in New York City and went on to work in her career as a secretary. She was a secretary for many years working in both high school and elementary school settings. She eventually retired from Gulf Gate Elementary School in Sarasota and moved to Gulf Shores, Alabama to be near her family. She came out of retirement and worked for the United Way in Foley, Alabama where she enjoyed helping people in need and was a blessing to the local community. After leaving United Way, she worked as a bookkeeper and receptionist for a local dance studio where she continued to enjoy working among young students. She enjoyed dancing and cooking Greek and Italian cuisine for her family and friends. It gave her such joy feeding other people. Angela loved her church at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Gulf Shores, AL and served as a Eucharistic Minister until moving to Foley, AL. After moving to Foley, she joined the congregation of St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Parish where she met many friends and enjoyed the activities of the church until her illness.
Angela was a devoted wife to her late husband, James F. Angelos and a loving mother to her two daughters. Later in life, she was a devoted wife to her late husband, Edward J. Karcz and was a caring stepmother to his three adult children.
Angela is preceded in death by her parents John and Mary Vlahakis and her brother Emmanuel Vlahakis. She is survived by her sister Maria Cerbone, her brother Joseph [Muriel] Vlahakis, her two daughters Mary Henningsgard and Jean [Deral] Rollings, four grandchildren, Steven Henningsgard, Susan Henningsgard, Benjamin Rollings and Elizabeth Rollings, and her great-grandson Crews Prigge.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at 10:30 to 11 am. at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park, 170 Honore Avenue, Sarasota Florida. Funeral service at 11 am, followed by Burial at Palms Memorial Park. The Reverend Deral Rollings will officiate.
Angela loved her family and friends dearly and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
