Assad was born in Mt. Moriah, St. Ann, Jamaica, West indies, on November 13th, 1933. He was the eldest child of Brentford Louis Walters and Violet Clare. Assad leaves behind several brothers and sisters.
Assad is survived by his wife Marcia (Nee Gibson), and 7 children, Hyacinth, Tennyson (Karlene), Jeffrey (Gillian), Brian (Jennifer), Claire (Michael), Shelley (Hopeton), and Jeremy (Tonia) all of whom reside in the United States.
Assad Walters was also a beloved Grandfather to Allan, Mario, Andre, Peter John, Nicole, Monet, Matthew, Briana, Moise, Taylor, Gabrielle, Ashley-Ann, Noah, Elijah, Aaron, Alexander, and Great-Grandfather to many.
Assad enjoyed classical music, and would often awaken his children on Saturday mornings by blasting Handel, Beethoven, or Brahms. He also enjoyed sports and was an amateur cricketer in his youth. Assad was a man of very strong faith which he instilled in his children.
Before migrating with his family to the United States in 1976, Assad was a trusted friend and colleague to many as Deputy Commissioner at Jamaica’s tax income office.
Assad’s graciousness and loving heart showed to all he came in contact with. His love is never ending.
A visitation for Assad will be held Saturday, October 8, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park, 170 Honore Ave, Sarasota, FL 34232. A funeral service will occur Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 11:00 AM, 170 Honore Ave, Sarasota, FL 34232. A committal service will occur Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 12:00 PM, 170 Honore Ave, Sarasota, FL 34232.
