

Carolyn “Sue” Coffey, a devoted mother and grandmother, passed away on April 26, 2025, in Sarasota, Florida. Born on July 4, 1941, Sue was an extraordinary woman whose life was defined by her unwavering love for Jesus and her unshakable commitment to her family.
Sue found immense joy in her farm life, where she canned, cared for her cows and chickens, and cherished the company of her grandchildren. She especially enjoyed family vacations in the Smoky Mountains with her sons, daughter-in-love, and grandchildren.
As the loving mother of four sons, Carolyn dedicated herself to raising them in a home filled with a steadfast faith in God, which guided her family through life’s challenges. Carolyn is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Douglas W. Coffey, Sr., and three of her sons, Douglas “Dougie” W. Coffey, Jr., Robert L. Coffey, and Victor “Bruce” Coffey. Their memories and the faith they shared will forever reside in the hearts of her surviving family and friends.
Surviving her are her son, Brian Coffey; daughter-in-love, Wendy Coffey; granddaughters, Kylie, Ashleigh, and Lilyana; grandsons, Jared, Tyler, and Zakary Coffey.
A service to celebrate Sue’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 13th 6:30pm at Calvary Chapel Sarasota in the youth building (enter through the side gate).
