Christopher Todd Williams, known to many as Chris, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2026, in Sarasota, Florida, after a long battle with cancer. He was born on September 9, 1961, in Bloomington, Indiana, and moved to Florida early in life, where he built both his career and lasting relationships.
Chris worked for many years as a store manager with Taco Bell, where he was known for opening multiple locations, training hundreds of team members, and contributing significantly to the company’s growth and success. His work ethic and leadership left a lasting impact on many he mentored throughout his career.
Outside of work, Chris had a deep love for sports, especially Indiana University basketball and football, as well as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He enjoyed watching all sports and spent many hours revisiting classic shows, including American Idol and The Voice, often on repeat. The Game Show Network was also a frequent favorite in his home.
Chris is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. He is survived by his children, Christopher Williams Jr. , Ashley Williams, Whitney Beauchamp , Cory Williams, Nikki Clark, Heather Reinhardt, Whitney Clark, and Justin Finehout, all of whom he loved deeply and in his own way remained connected to throughout his life. He is also survived by his longtime companion, Shawn Finehout, whose presence provided companionship, support, and care over many years.
He leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, who lovingly called him “Grumpy” and “Bumpy,” as well as his sister Amanda Bauer, aunt Bonnie, cousins Amy and Josh, and many extended family members and friends who will remember him in different chapters of his life.
In recent years, Chris had the opportunity to reconnect with family members and build relationships with his children and grandchildren, moments that held special meaning for him and those around him.
He will be remembered for his humor, his love of sports, his strong personality, and the unique way he showed care for those in his life.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Chris by having a cookout, sharing a drink of Captain Morgan with Coke and lime, and watching classic episodes of American Idol from the early 2000s.
A celebration of life will be held at Bee Ridge Park on April 26th. Anytime from 11am to 2pm where he shared many memories with both family and friends.
