  A good man died 
Buildings did not close
Flags were not flown at 
half mast
School children 
attended classes
and life went on 
as it did yesterday
and will again 
tomorrow.

But he was my friend
and people should know

A good man died !!!!!!!!!!!  

I will always remeber Clyde's kindness and his wonderful humor and the stories he would tell. What a colorful life this man had. I will treasure the times I had being a part of his life.  I know he will rest in peace because he is with his Sweeie.

My Grandpa Clyde McDaniel can be described in so many words but there is only one that captures the true meaning of his legacy and that is " Purpose" His life was lead by true family values and how the simple things in life has such great purpose. Whether it was a card to send your way to remind you how much he cared and loved his family or a cross country trip to visit his favorite place the great Smokey Mountains of North Carolina. Here is where my greatest memories will always lie between me and my Great Grandpa. I was given a chance to spend several summers with him where he taught me so many of life's lessons and the value of taking pride in everything you do.The summers would seem to last forever and we would play his favorite card game Rummy, Listen to music, plant a garden, and take long drives into the country in the old Green Dodge. He was a simple man during simple times and everything just made since. Some may say that life is valued by the number of friends you have But I say thanks to my grandpa Life has taught me the value is in your family and how important his legacy continues. 

Love you Grandpa and thanks for all the times we shared and your life and all you are will never be forgotten.

Grandpa,
I will never run out of stories about my Irish Grandfather, Clyde McDaniel. You could tell a story better than anyone I know or will ever know.I will always know I was your favorite.  Our history goes way back to when I was a baby and many trials and tribulations, but through it all you were always there to come get us and give us a home. When one talks about their roots you are it, the Patriarch. As Brian Owens did your funeral Service in North Carolina and spoke from 1 Kings 2:1-5 he spoke of you passing on your wisdom to the family. All four of my Children and Grandchildren have those words of wisdom in their hearts forever. I love you miss you and know that you are with your loved ones, and I will always find peace that in my Heart Nevelyn came to take you to cross over the River Jordan. You will never feel pain, loneliness, only love, joy, peace and the presence of God. See you in Heaven, remember don't eat yellow snow. Have fun playing your ukulele. I already miss you more than ever. I love you and know that you are in a better place now surrounded by so much love than you could ever imagine with no more pain or sadness. I will always hold deep in my heart the love you'd shown me and the fun times we had. Say hi to Nana, Grandma, and Nevelyn for me. Love you Jennifer "Your Sweety"

Granddad,  I will cherish the memories I have of you from the time I was a little girl and I would spend the night at your house and I would listen to you sing songs and you would play your guitar. I loved watching you play the guitar and you have inspired me to learn to play. You were so special. I always felt comfort and happiness in your presence. You made me laugh. You always gave me a smile and you never ever forgot my birthday. You always sent me a card with a dollar inside. That was so cool. I remember how you would stand in the driveway and wave goodbye until we were out of sight never turning away until you were sure we were gone.  I loved that about you. When I think of you I will remember how much you loved your dogs.  Every dog you owned had a wonderful life. Your dogs were loved dearly. If they only knew how good they had it having you as their master. When I see the mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee I will think of you.  When I drive through Sarasota I will remember so many good times with you like Leroy Selmons Restaurant. Each and every time I eat fried green tomatoes without a doubt I will think of you!!!  I thank God that I had a loving grandfather like you! You were a blessing in my life. You are engraved in my heart always and forever!  I miss you deeply! Another angel is in heaven now.
