Dolores Jenny Stone

March 1st, 1929 - March 6th, 2025 (Age 96)

Dolores J. Stone’s journey began on March 1st, 1929, in Westville, Illinois. On March 6th, 2025, her journey ended, and she went home to be with her beloved husband, Bill. And now two hearts are whole again after 24 years of being apart.

She met the love of her life and soulmate while he was in the Navy in Chicago, and they married soon after. Together they fostered a loving environment for their children; Sons - William Stone (Rhonda), Glen Stone, Mark Stone (Carolyn), and Daughter - Dee Stone. In 1970, the family moved to Sarasota to be closer to Bill’s relatives. Dolores was very proud of her six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren that she adored.

She enjoyed her many years assisting students at Riverview High School where she worked in several positions in administration and retired from the Sarasota County school system. After retirement, Dolores & Bill found joy in many adventures whether it was playing pool at their favorite billiard hall or just spending time together. Aside from her family, she loved spending time outdoors and on any given day you would find her out working in her yard or up on a ladder fixing something even in her 80’s.

For all who remember Dolores, they will remember her for making sure the lights are up on the house for Christmas to remember husband, her silly sense of humor, and most of all, the love she had for her family and friends. She will be missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.
