Dorothy Acree Cutrell

Dorothy A. Cutrell, passed away May 22, 2011. She was a resident of Sarasota moving here in 1957 from Stewart County, TN.

She received her B.S. degree from Austin Peay State University and continued her education at FSU and completed her Masters degree in education.

Dorothy started her teaching career with the opening of Riverview High School in 1958. She advanced to guidance counselor and ultimately after 27 years Dorothy retired as Dean of Women.

She was active with the Asolo Theatre, Delta Kappa Gamma, and First Christian Church. Her leisure activities included traveling and gardening.

Dorothy was a loving mother to her children Robert, Edward, William and Sara and cherished her grandchildren, Lawrence, Jaimey, Katie, Daniel, Melissa, Kyle and Jason and greatgrandchildren Landon, Logan and Chloe.

She leaves her long time friend and sister Sara Fluty, with whom she enjoyed years of travel.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Cutrell in 1996.

Services to be announced at a later date . Palms- Robarts Funeral Home & Memorial Park is in charge of arrangements.

She will be missed by family and friends touched by her love. Dorothy truly was one of a kind.
