Dr. Chernick was the professor and chairman of the Department of Pharmacology at Hahnemann University, Philadelphia, PA. Upon retirement, he became Professor Emeritus. He was the author of a WWII novel "Mustang" and was a proud Eagle Scout.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 52 years, Marsha; loving daughter, Michelle Martineau (David) and cherished grandson, Eric Martineau (Lexi). He is preceded in death by his grandson, Steven Martineau and siblings, David Chernick, Rose Gilstein, Ethyl Dluznowski, Frances Fishlock and Melvin Chernick.
Funeral services will begin at 2 pm on Sunday, January 27, 2018 at Robert Toale & Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park, 170 Honore Ave., Sarasota, FL 34232 with Rabbi Michael Shefrin officiating.
