Survivors include son, Eldon E. Miller Jr. and wife, Cindy of Sarasota, FL; daughter, Paula Cervone and husband, George of Jacksonville, FL; brother, Leroy A. Miller and wife, Rosie of New Albany, IN; granddaughters, Tracy Mutchiga, Christine Gialanella, Valarie and Sonia Miller; and great grandchildren, Mya, Christopher and Gisella.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Shirley A. Miller.
Gene served in the Navy during WWII and the Army during Korea and Vietnam until retirement after 26 years of service. Beginning in 1972 he was a letter carrier in Sarasota until his final retirement in 1984. Gene was a life member of the National Rifle Association.
Visitation will be held on Wed. Dec. 3, 2014 from 10 am until the time of graveside service at 12 noon at Palms-Robarts Funeral Home & Memorial Park, Sarasota, FL.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Disabled Veterans Association.
