A wonderful person!  Great neighbor!

Eric was a great man!  When I first came into the Criminal Investigations Bureau, he called me into his office and gave me a great welcome.  He also spelled out the facts of life being a deputy.  I operated under what he instilled in me for my entire career.   It was a great career (33 1/2years).  I saw many a deputy get in trouble or fired because of things he told me not to do during that"talk".  I operated under my faith and those "rules" the rest of my entire life.  Lt. Cole you were one of my heros in my life!

Eric was like a dad to me. We were like family when we were his neighbor. If I needed help with anything he was there

I worked with Eric Cole at the Sarasota Sheriff’s Office back in 1980.  Eric was a down to earth man and very easy to talk to.  He was a Sergeant at that time and I admired him for being there for his subordinates.  Rest In Peace Eric.  My condolences go out to your family.  Sending love and hugs
