Evelyn Arseneau Beaumont, 89, of Sarasota, FL, and formerly of East Freetown, MA, passed away on November 10, 2013. She was born March 18, 1924 in Fairhaven, MA to William and Pearl (Babineau) Arseneau.
Evelyn was a member of the Freetown VFW Ladies Auxiliary and was a Past President. She was also involved with the Miss Freetown Scholarship Pageant, Voice of Democracy, and the Order of Eastern Star. She was a graduate of the Campbell Business School and worked in Civilian Service at Camp Edwards during WWII and as an Executive Assistant at Morse Cutting Tools in New Bedford, MA. Evelyn also worked at Filene’s of Boston. For most of her working career, Evelyn was a talented samples seamstress in the ladies garment industry, from where she eventually retired.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter C. Beaumont; brothers, Thomas, Walter, Frederick and Earl; and sisters, Margaret and June.
Evelyn is survived by her children, Judith Almeida (Kenneth) of Ellenton, FL and Laurel LaCroix (fiancé, Gary Brunelle) of Estero, FL; grandchildren, Dennis, Ian, and Nathan Almeida and Sarah Benoit; 4 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
