She was born on January 7, 1932 to Virgil and Georgia Rose and adopted by Gottlieb and Dorothy Hari at the age of seven. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty six years, Robert Hangartner, and sons Erik and Dale.
Surviving are one daughter, Lisa Aung-Din of Sarasota, and one son, Gary Hangartner of Bradenton, thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
She grew up in Goodfield, Illinois. And lived for many years in Morton, Illinois, raising her children and working as the bookkeeper for her husband's automotive repair business. Moving to Sarasota thirty one years ago, she went on to work as a baker at Nellie's Deli and Morton's Market, a dog groomer, crossing guard, and nanny.
She was known for her hardworking nature and generosity of spirit. And in all she did, she maintained unwavering honesty, grace, and humor. She was a beloved mother and grandmother; always there to listen and never hesitating to help. Giving selflessly to all in need; she served as an example of unconditional love, strength, and compassion to her family and indeed to all who knew her. She will be immensely missed. But we are comforted with the knowledge that she is joyously in the presence of her Lord and Savior.
A visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of service at 11 AM on Thur. Aug. 10, 2017 at Palms-Robarts Funeral Home, Sarasota, FL.
