Helen Linton Schweyer passed away on the morning of April 26, 2013 in Longboat Key, Florida at the age of 96.
She was born on August 13, 1916 in Yonkers, NY and married the love of her life, the late George Schweyer Jr. in 1945. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she loved passing afternoons at the bridge table and ending each day with a perfect Manhattan, rocks on the side. After an early career on Wall Street at the Bank of New York, she became a full time mom and den mother in Shoreham, Long Island, New York making her home a warm and welcoming place for neighborhood children. In 1975 she moved to Longboat Key where she has lived for the past 38 years and served for many years as the Head of Recreation for the Longboat Harbor Condominiums.
Helen is survived by her four children, Roy, Valerie, Dale, and Lloyd, her sister Mary Dwyer, her three grandchildren, Tarik, Erica, and Brooke and her dear care companion Laura.
Memorial services will be held at the Longboat Island Chapel located at 6200 Gulf of Mexico Drive in Longboat Key on Monday, April 29 at 5:00 pm.
