Irving Brown, a self-made entrepreneur and philanthropist, passed away peacefully at his home in Tampa, Florida, at age 87.
Born in Manchester, England, he immigrated alone to the United States at fifteen and built a life defined by integrity, hard work, and generosity. With his wife of over fifty years, Jane, he supported education, healthcare, and community causes through the Irving and Jane Brown Foundation.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Brown; his daughters Lisa Kiernan and her husband Jay, Wendy Ozeri and her husband Yehuda and Hillary Brown and her partner Boris Kalanovic. He is also survived by his grandchildren Enbar, Eitan, and Evan Ozeri and his dog Max. He will be remembered for his values, quiet strength, commitment to helping others, and his love of dogs.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Tampa.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 31 at 12:00 pm
at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home, Palms Memorial Park, Garden of Temple Sinai, 170 Honore Ave, Sarasota, FL 34232, followed by a reception at 12:30 pm.
