Jerry Earl Hufford, 69, of Lakewood Ranch, FL, passed away suddenly at his home on Tuesday, February 8, 2022. Jerry was born on July 15th, 1952 in Dayton, OH to the late Earl Hufford and Sue (Scarbrough) & Frank Maciatek.
He proudly served as a Sergeant in the Air Force from 1972 - 1976 as a Hurricane Hunter. Following a successful engineering career, Jerry filled his years sharing his passion for travel with his wife, Peggy. He later retired to Lakewood Ranch, FL in 2017, and quickly became involved in the Del Webb Community and was currently serving as President of the Association of Veterans and Military Supporters (AVMS).
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Peggy Hufford; sister, Sandy Schauer (Vinny); his two daughters, Tina Harris (Ernie) of Wyandotte, MI; Amy Hufford (partner Tom) of Chesterfield, MI; his step-son Josh Nardi (Nora) of Henderson, NV; and his 7 grandchildren, Miranda, Kayla, Ryan, Emily, Damian, Brendan, and Noah.
A graveside service for Jerry will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Rd 72, Sarasota, FL 34241.
