
Joe C. Bohannon, 61, of Sarasota, Florida succumbed to injuries sustained in a vehicular accident while on a hunting trip in Georgia. Born in Tampa, Florida his family moved to Sarasota while Joe was a child, attending Riverview High School.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Deborah; loving daughter, Jackie Bohannon-Rhinelander (Jeff); cherished grandson, Ashton Rhinelander and sister, Cheryl Bohannon-Houston. He is also survived by his loving family, Barbara Collins, mother-in-law; his brother-in-laws, Jack Collins Jr. and Christopher Collins (Amanda); nieces and nephews, Blair, Cole, Noah, Dallas, J.C. III, Christopher and Taylor; his aunt and uncle, Sylvia and Gene Davenport and dear friends, Marc and Adrienne Pezzella.
He was a loving and devoted husband to his beloved wife of 40 years, a dedicated and loving father to his only daughter, and a doting new grandfather. A lover of adventure and all things outdoors, his life was full of wonderful relationships and adventures with family and friends, hunting and fishing experiences, a lifetime of incredible memories and a huge circle of friends. A recently retired residential and commercial contractor he was instrumental in the construction of many homes, restaurants and office complexes throughout the greater Sarasota region. He will forever be remembered for his selflessness, vibrance, and vigor for life.
A celebration of Joe’s life will be held Sunday December 30, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at FirstSarasota, the Downtown Baptist Church, 1660 Main St., Sarasota, FL 34236.
