John lived a life of love and faith. He had a God-given ability to connect with kids and teens. John served for 25 years as a youth and children’s pastor at Grace Baptist Church, The Journey Fellowship, and The 360 Church. John leaves a legacy of youth (many now adults) who love and serve the Lord, and a family who loves him with all their heart.
In his free time John loved to fish and spent many hours in the bay with his daughter, friends, and youth group kids. He enjoyed skiing backwards on trick skis, building Legos, collecting Funkos, and spending time at Disney with his family.
John is survived by his wife, Barb, daughters, Courtney, Brooke, Rebekah and Kaitlyn, his parents, Berk and Shirley Carico, and his brother, Paul Carico, of Sarasota, Florida.
A funeral service for John will be held Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Grace Community Church, 4080 Lakewood Ranch Blvd N, Lakewood Ranch, FL 34240.
In remembrance of John’s twenty five years of youth ministry service, a donation in his memory can be made to the Scholarship Fund at Shocco Springs. This will allow students an opportunity to experience God at Shocco Springs that would otherwise not be able to do so.
